Grip Moto is a partnership between Gary McDonald and Roy Wackwitz.  Between us we have over 40yrs experience in the Automotive Refinish and Smash Repair industry.  Roy has owned MBQ AutoBody Brisbane’s Mercedes Benz authorised body repairer for around 20yrs.

Grip Moto came about because we saw an untapped market for the repair of minor scratches and dents.  The market was only being served by the mobile type operators, who are mainly just guys who bought a franchise and started painting cars.  The end result in the vast majority of cases was less than acceptable.

We saw the need for high quality repairs done away from the traditional smash repair shops.  In most cases the smash repairers are not keen to do these types of repairs because it is inconvenient to them, as it slows production in their shop and their staff are not trained to do the jobs as “touch ups.”  This leads to the repair being far more expensive, taking longer and more of the vehicle than necessary being refinished.

Today we have 7 Smart Repair bays operating in Queensland and plan on expanding our business through partnerships with like minded dealerships throughout Australia.
